Via Email From CHA:

As we kick off 2020, here are some updates from the CHA:
The Southern California Homebrewers Festival is May 1-2, 2020, at Vail Lake KOA, near Temecula, CA. This will be the 29th Fest! More details can be found here https://www.calhomebrewers.org/2020-sou ... formation/.

Only 2020 CHA Members can register for the Fest. Please go to our shop to become a member and register for Fest.

Tickets increase in price as the date approaches, so buying sooner is a better idea.

Last week I also booked our campsites for this years fest. We got 6 sites in The Oaks. That means we'll actually have electricity and are super close to the fest site. They are great sites.

Re: SCHF 2020 - Canceled

Just wanted to make sure everyone is aware that the SoCal Homebrew Fest is officially canceled. I imagine all the past participants got an email but wanted to make sure all our new members are aware too. No word yet on the campsites, hopefully we'll get our money back.

I guess on that topic, it safe to assume that at the very least, we will not be having an April meeting? With all the breweries closed and the whole social distancing thing going on, it's probably prudent. It's a great time to support your local homebrew shop since we all have downtime right now to brew and not think about everything going on in the world. I've got Dylan put to work helping me create a 100% malted oat beer. What could go wrong?

We should also make every effort to support the local breweries that are selling beer to go. They have supported BEAVR and we need to do the same for them. Who the hell would want to go into a grocery store right now to buy beer anyway.

Who knows, if this all calms down sooner than later, we can do something fun that weekend of fest anyway. A few years back when fest was temporarily banned, we had our own homebrew fest at a group campsite up in Tehachapi and it was a lot of fun. Something to keep in mind at the least.

Keep brewing guys!

I agree with all that. No meeting, brew at home, support the homebrew shop and the breweries.
